I assisted at a photoshoot yesterday for my friend Chelsie Moore. There were a lot of old parts and pieces of doors and cars all around so on a break I took some pictures and this was one of my favorites.
This door was laid in the middle of the yard and was covered in snow. As i was walking around looking for something to take pictures of, the light shown through the tree onto the door and was to beautiful to resist.
In life there are many doors that are both opened and closed and no matter how old or dirty the door may be there is still some beauty in it. No matter how hard something in your life is or how horrible an experience is try and find the beauty, the good in everything.
I try to live life to the fullest with my eyes wide open to different possibilities. I am not a perfect person nor have I led a perfect life, but I do try and find the good in everything and everyone. Where will your next door take you.

Another year older
Today is my baby sisters 20th birthday. Not much of a baby anymore, I know, but it's crazy thinking of her as anything but. We have been through so much together and to think that she isn't a teenager anymore is a little scary to me. Time moves so quickly nowadays.
I mean it seems like only yesterday we were two little girls playing dress-up and irritating our parents. This picture was taken 4th of July a few years back (I think she was 18) and we were having a blast.
So much has changed even in the last two years and so much more will change as time continues. I mean this year alone I will be getting a new house, getting married and who know what else. Well, here's to a great year!

Beauty in Moments
This picture was taken via cell phone in Colorado Springs. I was driving home and happened to look to my left to catch the light breaking through the clouds.
It's times like these that remind me everyday is a blessing. Sometimes you just have to slow down and embrace the moments for all that they are, because most are fleeting.

Bloom to Perish
One of my best friends died not to long ago and I wanted to make something to remember him. My concept was him. The picture in the upper left is the tattoo that I got of his burial plot. I incorporated various crosses into the montage because those to me are a symbol of peace and heaven. The flowers stand for a life that had bloomed and the clocks stand for time stopped.
His name was Joseph Michael Buchanan, he was a musician, father, friend, soldier, and many other things to many people. He will forever live on in the hearts of those that loved him. This one is for you buddy.

Undone World
This world can be a very unforgiving place, yet a very beautiful one at the same time. It takes a lot for someone to make it through life and yet no one makes it out alive. The way I see it life should be lived to the fullest extent. Each and every day should be enjoyed like it was your last. Compassion is key.
If everyone had compassion there would be less suffering. In turn, if there was no suffering there would be no compassion. With the good and bad intertwined I challenge myself to live a full life and see beauty in everything. Even walking along a street and turning my head to look down an alley. That slight movement into the unknown can produce an image that is both pain and beauty rolled into one.

School Daze
I can't even really remember much of high school, but I do remember the anxiety and anticipation I felt for my senior year. Pictured here is Taylor Buhl, he starts his senior year this month and has the whole world at his fingertips. He is such a bright and caring soul.
It was a lot of fun taking senior portraits for him because it was so relaxed. Good looking kid right?! Good luck Taylor with all of your endeavors I'm sure you will be great!

Golden Nugget
She has the world at her feet and she is taking every opportunity possible. My sister Gabriela Maria Windey (pictured) has decided to take her many years of dance training and tryout for the Denver Nuggets dance team. It's an extremely grueling process. She has made it through two days of tryouts and cuts and will be attending the training camp this upcoming week.
She is a truly beautiful, talented person and my hero. The picture shown is one of her head shots I did specifically for these tryouts. Good luck Munchkin I know you will be great!
